Welcome

Welcome to the new Slimming World the Mediterranean Way blog.
I closed the other one down due to some scam issues and am rebuilding it.  I hope some of my previous readers will find me again - if you have, hi, welcome and apologies if I caused any worry or inconvenience!

I am starting basic and will be adding gadgets, etc, now and again.  For now, I just have the visitors gadget so if you would like to follow or re-follow, the means is there - and thank you in advance.

Just a bit about me.
I'm retired, loving life especially since losing quite a lot of weight firstly because of gallbladder problems and then with Slimming World.
For the last month or so I have been unwell with this horrible virus that is going the rounds and then Christmas happened.  I've gained a lot of weight, one way and another with comfort eating, grabbing whatever is easiest, carb cravings and festive food and am probably around a stone and a half above the top of my target range at the moment so tomorrow (SW weigh in and, yes, I'm dreading it) will see me back on it again 100% and using this blog to chart my journey!

As before, I will post my plans, meals and photos, recipes, information, etc.  My meals are based on Slimming World principles but with a Mediterranean twist as I firmly believe that together they point to a healthy lifestyle that works for me (when viruses and Christmases don't trip me up!!)

I'm going to post this now and the daily posts will start this evening.  These daily posts will usually be each evening but might possibly not appear until the next morning.

Anyway - if you have found your way back, thank you, a warm welcome and, hopefully, it will all be plain sailing.

  2. So good you are back Joy. I love this blog. I need to eat healthy for health reasons…well I suppose we all do. I don’t need to lose weight but I do need to eat healthy nutritional meals and to make an effort with cooking them. I love the things you cook and it has really encouraged me to do so. Looking forward to trying your recipes. Thank you for not being deterred, I’m very grateful. Wishing you peace, health and contentment for 2026. June x

    1. At the moment it is both weight and health for me but, if I had to choose, health would win every time.

Wishing you very much the same. xx

  3. Great to see your new blog is up and running. I find the recounting of your daily meals to be quite inspirational. It can be tough to eat healthy when illness and/or holidays occur, but your honesty in getting "back on the wagon" is very helpful to me, and I'm sure, to many of your other readers. It is a journey. Best wishes as you begin again!

    1. It is a journey, isn't it, and one where you never quite reach your destination in that you can't sit back, rest and stop thinking things through. Also, ideas, scientific understanding and knowledge is constantly moving on. I've taken a bit of a diversion but I'm still journeying on . . . never give up!!
Thank you so very much for your very kind words. xx
